Newmont Corporation (

) has closed a transaction with Skeena Resources Limited (
NYSE:SKE
) to
acquire
certain properties located in Tahltan Territory in northwestern British Columbia, Canada. Newmont’s President and CEO, Tom Palmer, said:
“We are committed to sustainable resource development and developing a world class mining jurisdiction while protecting and conserving lands that are important to the Tahltan Nation and the Iskut community. The mining claims around Iskut are not being purchased for development or their mineral potential, but in an effort to address concerns raised through our engagement with the Tahltan Nation.”
Benchmark Metals Inc. (
TSXV:BNCH
) has
announced
new results from infill and expansion drilling at the Dukes Ridge Deposit on its Lawyers Gold-Silver Project in British Columbia, Canada. Highlights include “54.60 metres (m) core length of 2.51 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 97.05 g/t silver or 3.73 g/t gold equivalent (AuEq), including 9.60 m of 13.39 g/t gold and 480.26 g/t silver or 19.39 g/t AuEq in drill hole 21DRDD016.” The company’s CEO, John Williamson, said:
“We are very pleased with these latest results from Dukes Ridge as we continue to expand on areas of known mineralization outside of the 2021 MRE pit shell. We anticipate continued growth for the Dukes Ridge deposit, and for the other deposit areas at Lawyers, as additional drill results contribute to the upcoming mineral resource estimate update.”

a summary of its financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2022. Highlights include the production of 12,766 ounces of gold – up from the 6,923 ounces recorded in Q1 2021, and total revenues of $24.4 million for the quarter – up from $15.4 million for Q1 2021.

interpretation results from its airborne MobileMT geophysical survey that was flown on the Richview Pine Project near Marathon, Ontario, Canada in 2021. The geophysical survey, according to the press release, “collected MAG (magnetics), EM (electromagnetics) and VLF (very low frequency electromagnetics) data across the combined Richview Pine property.” Aaron Stone, CEO of Metallica Metals, commented:
“These results are a great addition to the already strong geophysical indicators that we also received on our Sammy Ridgeline Project. There is a renewed PGM focus in the area after Generation’s Marathon discovery, who have proven that the Coldwell/Schreiber-Hemlo geological contact, of which we hold the western portion, is ripe for hosting mineralization.
